Confused on fitment. Ive hear that c1500 suburbans have 2" rake from factory but mine does not from what i can see on the vehicle and my general knowledge. I want to get new wheels (20" VN515 and 305/50R20 tires). Im on American Racing and its asking about suspension, i dont know if i choose Level 2" Drop rear, stock, or leveling kit. I cant find the ride height online so i dont know if this is lower or higher than usual. (Pretty sure my shocks are blown, dont know if that make a difference). Also would these wheels look good on my ride height or do i need to lower or get different wheels. Thank you!

I don't know about Suburbans having a rake; I've owned several GMT400 Suburbans and they all appeared level to me, which is roughly (in my opinion) about a 2" rear drop - when compared to a typical GMT400 C1500 pickup, which does tend to have a little bit of a rake.

The Torq Thrust style wheels will probably look OK, if they're your taste, I say go for it. If you're not planning on dropping the Suburban at all, the tires you're looking at *might* fit.. stocks are 235/75/15 which are roughly 29" tall; the 305/50/20's are 32". Section width is a pretty big change as well from about 9.25" to 12" which might be putting you into rubbing in places like against the frame at full steering lock, or maybe even on the inside of the rear wheel tubs.

Long time ago on my '94 Suburban I went to 275/45/20's which are a little under 30", but I also did a 2/2 drop on it with spindles up front and shackles out back. No fitment issues at all with that size.

Thank you so much man. I was going into this blind and this sheds alot of light onto it. Closest thing i could find are Nitto 275/40R20, assuming these would be good because they are smaller then the 45R20?

275/40/20 are about an inch shorter than 275/45/20, and same section width. Are you sure you can't find 275/45/20's? It's a pretty common size - Over 70 hits on Tire Rack, most of which are XL load rating which is what you'll want on the Suburban (or any truck, IMO.) Neither of those sizes should be hard to find, whichever way you go.

Again, I didn't have any issues with 275/45/20 with a 2/2 drop on a C1500 Suburban.

And.. be sure to check that load rating. XL is what you want.

They have a XL / 106 load rating (Stock hankook tires i had were 108 rating so not worried about that). I was also thinking would a inch shorter look better but about the same, maybe a little stiffer. These tires also have very high reveiws on custom offsets

My burb has a little bit of rake, but I know the front coil springs are wore out. I like the way it sits, and even though it's a half ton, properly distributing the load will make it barely level. This picture is from the last show I towed a trailer with it, on load out. Cargo area had a lot of stuff in it too.

I didnt know the springs could wear out, another thing to add to the list lol. I have a toolbox and 12" sub but not too heavy of a load in the back, the shocks are definitely blown though. Also, thats one of my favorite oem colors, she looks good man
