What y’all think about the IAT and the fuel trims? Sorry this is the first time I’ve posted. The truck is a 98 z-71. It has a 2002 5.3 in it. Some times when I go to crank it it’s hard to get it running and it will backfire though the exhaust and sounds like it’s coming out the intake every now and then but it might not be doing that. Ones it starts she runs like a scalded ape. Anyone have any idea on what’s going on? I did read something earlier that the CAM sensor could be going bad and the ECM is having to wait on the crank sensor to let it know where it’s at? My O2 sensors are all over the place as I’m sitting here typing all this and drinking a cold one.

Is it REALLY 180 degrees under the hood? Have you verified with some other thermometer?

Perhaps a moderator will move this thread to the LSX + Carb Swaps sub-forum.

Easily! Both my 1997 Express and 1999 Tahoe frequently saw 200F all stock. Actually nearly everything will reach 200F in IATs here in summer heat. The OP is in Alabama from his profile. It is probably already near 100F there too.

or misfire, or intake leak.... hard to tell. There's lots of things that will tell the O2 sensors that you are running lean when you aren't.. but that's what it looks like is happening.
