Thanks for the info and comments, the AD244 sounds like a good upgrade, I've got 2 pick-a-part yards close by, got a few other items on the list for the treasure yards as well, I will be adding a JL Audio amp and speaker box combo and here in the southwest the A/C will be heavily relied upon this summer and that ad244 sounds like the ticket for keeping the electrical up to the task!!
Note i just typed in southwest utah.. heres the treasure yards who have an AD244 145 amp in stock rite now.

Order that 44mm pulley too. It will help you on the draw @ idle / low rpm since u doing sound too

Which belt did u go with ? The one i linked or a different one ? Normaly its best to get your alternator / pulley installed, then see how your original belt matches. Then start cross referencing from there/ seeing if u need shorter or longer belt.

The gates website does an awesome job on listing sizes in that spectrum

I just picked up from the pull a part a 145 amp factory ad244 from a 2004 yukon. It seems to be doing well so far. Only mod for me (TBI motor) was bend the lifting tab back for alternator to clear, and open up the mounting holes of the mount about 1/8” for the bolts to line up better. You may need new (longer) bolts as well

I also coupled it with a longer serpentine belt for the larger casing

Yup, that's what I did...

This is a '95-'99 140amp w/a BBK underdrive pulley kit

The rear bolt on the alt is from a '95-'99 (pic 4)

the left bolt is stock (pic 1)

the bolt on the right is custom (pic 2)

Edited - almost forgot. If you do get the larger alternator. I do recommend doing this for the hose - (pic 5)

Here is what I have on my truck. The gold pulley is the OE, and the black pulley is the aftermarket, overdrive pulley. You can see the difference. The black pulley is smaller, and will turn the alternator faster.
