If all else fails buy an ALDL cord and download TunerPro RT. It's probably the best OBD1 scanner available now. TunerPro is free with a voluntary registration fee and the cord is about $60

Just an update everybody. I’m kicking myself already. I did some checking and was told by the previous owner, who never got the truck running Thant when he acquired it the seller had just put the 305 in it. I mistakenly thought it was an original v8 truck. Well turns out I checked the vin and it was an original 4.3. Swapped out ecm. Starts and runs like a champ. Whew! Thanks every body for pointing me in the right direction.

Phantom 309 I really appreciate your help. I posted on Road Trip just now and share this with you. My tps reading is .50 at idle and 4.36 at WOT.

pretty sure it should read solid 5

Thanks 309. I changed the computer and my tps. Now reads. 50 and 4.96. Runs awesome.
