I'm researching things about my truck as I'm trying to fix its many problems and so far it's been very cryptic. Right now I'm trying to figure out what the original paint color was and I can't find my paint code, or at least one that matches my RPO sticker. I know my sticker is the original because the RPO codes match up to my truck.
Every GM paint code I can find begins with wa, while what I can assume is mine begins with h. Anyone know why or can help?

Try running your VIN through here: Free GM Vin Decoder | GMPartsGiant

That will tell you what most of those RPO codes mean. Also, you can contact the GM Archives and they can provide you with a build sheet and other info for a small fee:

And if you have the FSM for your year , the first chapter, chap. 0. Not oh, zero. Has the whole enchilada. What engines, power trains, trans, all the RPO options available for that year, and descriptions for that year. Everything is in there no dreaded searching the net for dead ends or spam. Easy, it's all in one manual. Just like the paint chart above.
If all else fails, read the instructions. Or refer to the FSM for information.
