Transporting truck bed

I have a giant dolly made with 2x6s and a set of Harbor Freight casters that my team captain and I built for moving the bare shells for our race car. Expect to spend about $80 on wood, screws, and casters.

My son is into the NBS (99-06) trucks and has bought and transported multiple beds. He always transports them as I’ve seen in a couple of threads here already with the loose bed flipped upside down on the truck he’s using to transport the new/used bed. Hasn’t had an issue yet and he’s done it probably 5 or more times.

As far as shuffling it around after getting to our house, he built what we call a dolly. We already had the lumber and the casters so it only cost him only his time. He, his friends, and I have all used this dolly many times over the past 2 years to house truck beds and cabs, even fully assembled crew cabs. It’s been great for us.
