96 tahoe 5.7L 225,000. throwing code on O2 sensor bank 1. I replaed sensor a couple years ago when I got this. Suspect I have some oil fowling going on. Use a mild amount of oil maybe 1/2 qt per thousand. Proceed with new catalytics or do a repair on the engine first?

I'd prefer to not break what isn't messed up. Truck runs great, no issues despite CEL.

WHICH code? WHICH sensor? Upstream? Downstream?

You have an O2 sensor code. Why are you thinking of catalytic converter(s)?

Bank one sensor 1 is monitoring fuel mix sends data to ecm. If your cats were going bad you would have codes for sensor two, the after cat sensors. Don't guess, do the diagnostics.
