Are there any plug and play performance chips for a 1993 gmc sierra c1500 that actually work and are worth the buy? Or are they all a scam?

I tried them on a 1989 and 1994 454 trucks and no luck. Maybe someone liked them on the 350's?

I would not spend money on a chip no. I would upgrade to a newer computer and get an in person tune done. Or learn to tune and buy the equipment to do so.

The stock tuning is so bad that I do not see how it would be possible to not gain 20 hp and 30 tq with ease on a stock truck. I think the biggest performance issue is the stock fuel pressure is all over the place. I like to see 13-14 psi on a stock TBI engine. Anything under 13 psi, it is going to run lean at WOT. The 2nd issue is the 048 ignition module on some of them that cripples the already lethargic advance curve at higher rpm.
