But I guess the exposure of the predicament was a good thing for others too. And we all know that on a daily basis there's still folks that pour it out behind the shop or in the backyard and don't give a sh** about long term effects.

Your original post reminded me that I was going to need to verify the same thing for myself shortly.
(The business that used to take my old antifreeze no longer does so?)

And I think the contents of this entire thread is kind of a Public Service Announcement for the forum.
And I'll bet that anyone in this forum is setting the DIY standard in their neighborhood, and in turn
hopefully can influence others to also close the car fluids loop the right way, environmentally speaking.
