Any SBC new enough to have a one-piece rear main seal shouldn't be leaking.

The older, perimeter-bolt valve covers/cork-rubber gaskets were especially bad.

What year later models like my 98 have a 2 piece manifold and frequently leak there se if there is oil on the block above the bell housing.

Thank you all for the information. So the oil pressure sensor was indeed dry. The China wall as people frequently call where the intake meets the block? Is dry. Turned out to be a loose oil filter for the most part. Still a slight leak coming from the inspection cover holes but nothing too major.
