Well I got my valve covers in today, they are made by spectre, and have 3 holes in them, all are 1.25 or 1-1/4 dia. Now one I know is for my oil fill cap which I have to order, the other 2 I have questions on....

I know I need a pcv but should I get one of the round caps with a pcv on it?

or just get a grommet that will fit the stock pcv in it? Like it is stock.

Now for the other tube, it comes off the valve cover and goes to the tbi spacer ring or valve cover in older vehicles. Should I use it? Should I put on another pcv cap with a tube fitting on it and hook it up? or should I just use a breath cap like this...

or just plug it off with another oil fill cap or grommet or something? Will it hurt to not be used? Will it bother it if I use the breather type? No emissions here so no worries on that.

Here's the valve covers..

Here's the oil fill cap I am going to order, and it's called for with these covers if you buy them in the dress up kit.

Then I guess I need to find the right size grommet to fit the outer dia. of the cap/breath or pcv and fit the inner dia. of the valve cover holes which is 1.25?

aftermarket holes are bigger. I think the pcv and the tube in back are like 3/4 and the valve covers are made that small of a hole, where as the new ones have big 1.25 holes. They are supposed to fit any centerbolt setup. I wished I would have just got the caps that go over the stock valve covers.

1. PCV, find a rubber gromment and use a stock style PCV, those PCV breather suck.

2. just pop a breather in the other hole, you dont need the ring under the aircleaner.

hhhm are the ones from lmc not what you want?

As for me my air cleaner is a drop base, didn't know it until I got it so I may have to use the ring as a spacer. if I can ditch it, then breather for sure.

As for the pcv, that was my thought but I do like the pcv caps, that actually have the pcv in them, you know the ball that rattles, some of the others are open no ball from what I can tell, don't know what the difference is but stock has a ball so I stick with that. Old man has 2 on his truck one does nothing.

As bad as I hate it, it's cold and going to snow again, but I need to go measure crap and check, see if I need the ring and if so measure the tube dia. if not then I'll just plug it with a breather.
