I have a 1994 Chevy Silverado C1500 Extended Cab, and I needed to install some new parts. I finished new speaker wiring, and almost finished installing a car alarm. Unfortunately, almost everything made of plastic broke, including the dash. Any ideas for a cheap custom interior? Already have an idea for the gauges, and maybe installing a dash for an 80s chevy pickup.

If it were me, I plan on spending a couple hours going through GMT400 trucks at the local j-yard. Be sure you have something for pictures and a tape measure. Capture lots of pics and measurements and ideas.

This will serve as background info for the little gray cells to come up with a creative solution. Also give you a feel for how the OEM piece fit together and which parts break most often.

Then look for build thread from your buddies here on the forum - whole lot of clever folks working on their trucks, and you can certainly do worse than stealing great ideas from them.

Many of us truck nerds really prefer OEM style and functionality.
But -it's your truck and your canvas - so paint it large!

Reminder - regardless of your style and solution - picture taxes are due!
:)

That's one of the unfortunate things about these trucks, the plastic was not of a high quality, coupled with constant direct sunlight they have become very brittle. There are some reproduction pieces available if you do a deep search but it gets expensive to get a piece here and there. Like the others have said look around the parts yards for the essentials and start filling the gaps with cardboard mock ups and before you know it you will have your own custom solution. Keep us posted with lots of pictures because we like to follow along and offer ideas and advice where we can.

I have decided to try and go with an 80s squarebody dash and gauges. I also need to figure out some panels for the doors and the rest of the cabin. Does anyone know the size of both the 80s chevy truck dash and the dash in a 90s chevy silverado? Also would like to know how to make custom interior cab panels, or where to get them.
