this talks a little about says it was only offered on 2500 suburban and 2500 yukon xl was option on pickups but dose not say any thing abut 1/2 3/4 or 1 ton I would think that it would have only been on 1500hd 3/4 and 1 ton pickups but I could be maybe you could get it on regular 1500s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadrasteer

this here says that they used a dana 60 so that should be pretty strong and confirms what I thought about 8 lug only
