12 days for Priority Mail. The float plane leg did not slow it down. The Kent, Washington sorting/distribution center had it for 6 days.

When it is time to bask in the glory of success, please share it with us.
Well the scan tool is ready for the next person. No glory of success for me. To keep it brief I used the community scan tool and also used the ODD1 adapter that it came with it on a Snap-On Solus edge connected to WiFi. The crazy thing is I know my rig has front and rear ABS but the scanners would only read it if I selected the two wheel abs. When I did that it would connect, the ABS pump would make the whirring sound and I would just be told I had a bad ABS module and it could not test the other functions. It would not let me bleed the system with the scanner either. Operator error is definitely a possibility but I watched the Snap-on 9 part series on using the edge and I usually do okay with these things.
I am tossing in the towel on the ABS. I am back in Nevada until the 13th so I am going to the local Pick N pull tomorrow to try and source lines and parts from a non ABS hydroboost rig to take back to Alaska. If I do not have any luck there I am ordering a Wilwood proportioner, some brake line material, tons of fittings and a high speed brake flaring tool.

I tried to research that but what I found was that Snap-on added a little here and a little there, slowly adding the different brake systems it would work on. I never found a road map of which software versions work on which brake systems.

The community scanner main MT2500 scanner is version number is 2.2 The copyright date is 1988.
The MT25001099 Primary cartridge (copyright 1999) that covers up to 1999 is version 6.7
The MT25002988 Troubleshooter (copyright 1999) that covers up to 1998 is version 2.4
I also tried a slighter newer primary cartridge version 7.1 with the same results.

Truck running rough? Maybe you want to throw some parts at the 'ole girl to make it right. But which part? There are so many. Perhaps you were in the driveway with the hood open, intensely staring at the engine to telepathically coerce it into functioning again when your neighbor stops by. His Uncle had the EXACT SAME SYMPTOM a few years ago. A new quick-release mudflap cured HIS problem and it still runs like new at 2 million miles. His wife IS better looking than yours, so he must know something...you try it...its only $80, a trip to AutoZone and a few bolts... dang... still runs rough. Hit the forums, the YouTube, rinse and repeat until you have an engine bay full of shiny new parts... and... it still runs like doo.

As a last resort, you venture onto GMT400.com. You introduce yourself and your vehicle, craft the perfect post, list your symptoms, list the shiny new parts you've installed all in hopes of finding the magic bullet, the ONE PART that has eluded you, the ONE PART that will solve your problem and make you love this truck again...excitement builds...You have the RockAuto.com parts tree open and you are ready to buy the ONE PART...LETS DO THIS!!!!! When will they respond, WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG!!?...Oh, a reply. It's from @Schurkey

"Connect a scan tool and read the data stream?"

Your heart breaks. You spent all your money on those shiny new parts and the security cam aimed at your neighbor's pool. You cant possibly afford a scanner.

Well, now you can...

I have an old Snap-On MT2500 laying around I'd like to donate to the forum. It should have all the parts needed to read 88-99 GMT400s, all engines, all configurations.

ABOUT THE TOOL:

This post is not meant to be a user guide or how-to on using the MT2500. Snap-on has great forums, and there are other posts on here that explain how to use the tool. Access those for more details or how-tos. This tool is in OK condition. You will need to connect it to 12V power to turn on. The internal battery has been removed. It comes with:

(1) MT2500
(1) Primary Cartridge thru 1999 (already installed)
(1) Troubleshooter Cartridge thru 1999 (already installed)
(1) 12V Power cord
(1) Comm Cord
(1) GM-1 Adapter
(1) OBD-II Adapter (with Personality Key slot)
(3) Personality Keys (K-2, K-2A, K-9)

BASIC OPERATION:

For 88-95, you need the GM-1 adapter, comm cord and the 12V power cord. You plug the 12V power INTO the GM-1 adapter to get it to power on. For 96-99, you will need the OBD-II adapter, comm cord, and a personality key. When you plug the OBD-II adapter into your truck, the unit will power on, you select your vehicle and module (Engine, ABS, Transmission, etc) and it will tell you which personality key to insert into the OBD-II adapter. If this makes no sense, I suggest you watch some videos on the MT2500.

HOW WILL THIS WORK:

I, lets call me call me USER 1, currently have possession of the scanner. USER 2 replies to this post and requests the tool. USER 1 and USER 2 communicate in this post and over PM. USER 1 pays for shipping to USER 2. USER 2 receives and uses the scanner. USER 3 replies to USER 2 in this post, and requests the tool. USER 2 then pays for shipping to USER 3. USER 3 uses the tool for a reasonable amount of time then pays for shipping to USER 4....and so on. This way, no money should ever need to be exchanged between users. Since the unit is packaged into a USPS standard box, all shipping rates should be the same for each consecutive USER and everyone pays the same price.

NOTES:

1) I'm pretty old and am aware that there are bad people out there. I understand this scanner may not last long in the ether, but I would ask that USER X perform a little due diligence on who/where they send the tool. Use common sense, and for now, I suggest we keep it in the Contiguous USA.

2) I would like to use this post to track where the tool is by member username. So when I send it, I'll post the username of whoever is to receive it. Addresses and real names for shipping should be transmitted over private message.

3) Packaging: I cobbled together some foam to support it, and it does fit nicely in a USPS Medium-sized priority mail box. Let's keep this form factor. Its flat-rate shipping. You can pay and print online, and if the box gets destroyed, you can get a new one for free at any post office. Throw some packaging tape on it before you mail as the USPS glue is weak.

4) I'm not the most active member of this forum, nor am I very motivated, so I dont expect to do a lot of coordinating in this process. Hopefully the system as described will work with little to no input from me.

5) All joking aside, the reason I have this scanner is because of this forum and the great help I've received over the years. Happy to give back and hope it helps someone.
