Explain to me like I'm 5. How easy is an LS swap?

If I'm to believe the RPO codes in the glovebox, which I don't, I'm running 3.65 G80 gears. I believe the G80 since it spun them both when I pulled a stump out of the ground, but I'm not sure about the ratio. I wouldn't be opposed to 4.10 but it doesn't really fix the 214k mile future problem.
What G code to you show for an RPO code for a 3.65 gear? Never heard of that ratio. My girl has a GT4 code which is 3.73 gear.

I have the fun car. I have to have this to tow the fun car. Putting a cam in this doesn't save the 214k miles of cylinder wear.
If you have no current engine problems and no current transmission problems, save the money for future engine and transmission work. Why are you not telling US what gear ratio you have? If you want good towing abilities and keep the same dependable engine output, the gear ratio is the answer, IMO.

Your cylinders probably aren't worn that bad. Re-ring it, slap some new bearings in, and throw in a good truck cam. Ask me how I know.
I hadn't looked at the glove box yet, chill out. It's GU6 G80, so I guess 3.42. Not an amazing towing gear. Again, I'm not opposed to putting 4.10 or 3.73 in it, but that's not what this post was asking.

Just for context that I didn't think would be necessary, I got this truck for free off facebook with open headers, no title, electrical issues, rear drums with missing springs, mismatched wheels, and no door panels or dash panels. The 350 had no O2 sensors, plugs black as night, a new dizzy cap but the stock rotor, 4 different brands of spark plug wires on it, and an oil change sticker from 7 years ago. The rear main leaks, the 700r4 shifts too early (even after properly adjusting the TV cable), locks up too soon, and leaks about a QT of ATF out the front seal every 150 miles. It smokes blue on startup, smokes white on heavy pulls, and has 214,476 miles on it. I'm not a stranger to pulling engines and fixing things but there comes a point where rebuilding a jank ass TBI 350 and a 700r4 both of which have zero service history makes less sense than dropping a 6.0 + 4l80 in it and make more reliable power with relatively less work. The *only* reason I got this truck is because the frame and body are in fantastic condition. The interior, electrical, wheel, tire, exhaust, and brake problems have since been fixed. I just want to plan ahead a little so I can fix the final two eventual problems.

Your post was about an inexpensive dependable towing rig and that is not feasible with a 3.42 gear, with your existing engine. If you are asking for help and members ask for info to be able to help and then you disregard that member........well you do what you want and I am out. My answer may or may not be what you were looking for because you are convinced you can change the engine to an LS and change the transmission to something else and all will be good. You do that then. With a 3.42 gear and towing what you tow and lacking power up hills. GREAT, talk yourself in to whatever you want.

Post #1-"Right now my 350 and 700r4 are doing fine enough" and now your context says different. You can do a compression test and see if blue smoke is valve stem seals or rings. The 700R4 is not a crap transmission if gone thru correctly. I am not a transmission specialist but hopefully @NickTransmissions can share some thoughts.
