Exhaust Setup for 97 5.7L?

I’m looking to do an exhaust setup but not sure what i have to do. I want it to go out into dual tailpipes at the bumper. Good noise level but not clapped out loud. This truck is completely stock currently. I seem something about removing the cats as well but not too sure about it. Just looking for options and or what to go with.

Jegs has a universal exhaust kit, that would give you the pipes out the back and hangers. IIRC it comes with turbo's but not sure. They also have an intermediate offroad downpipe that is 100% bolt on with no cats.

The old style pellet catalytic converters were detrimental to exhaust flow, but they were long gone by 1997. Yours has a honeycomb-style catalytic converter and it doesn't restrict flow. I put high-flow aftermarket cats on my '89 because I want to be a good neighbor.

I built my own exhaust with headers, 2.5" mandrel-bent tubing, an x-pipe, cats, and Cherry Bomb Salute mufflers. If it were any louder I'd probably get pulled over, and I'd like to have it a bit quieter for my own sanity.
