Damn... Chevy should of made em like that to start with. You ahould lightly blackout the lights to hide them some. Just a thought, but your good at that and itd probably look sick as hell behind that grill :)

Yes you need the spacer still in, for correct driveline angles on an Ext. or Crew cab you need a 1 in spacer on the trans mount and a 2 inch spacer on the carrier bearing spacer. The only company that includes the correct ones in their kit is Ridetech, but the spacer's are super easy to build, I have built many of them.
