The charcoal canister line rusted out and broke at the fuel pump, do I need to replace the line back to the fuel pump or can I just block it off or leave the fuel pump line with nothing on it? Haven’t drove it since it happened

The tank has to vent. It vents through the charcoal canister because otherwise you'd blow all those hydrocarbons directly into the atmosphere. That would be evil.

So, yeah, you need to FIX this. Whether you replace the entire tube, or merely splice-in a repair section, is up to you.

Ahh okay thanks ill fix it, but all it does is dump fumes? Like no gas would come out if I turn the car on and move it down my drive rq
