91 5.7tbi auto to 5 speed

Hey all Im looking at getting a decent deal on a 91 k1500 5.7tbi with blown Auto trans I currently have a 89 k1500 with a 4.3 5lm60 I pretty much have everything to do it but I keep seeing that I need a chip or my chip tunned to run the set up is this the case?

You have the 700R4 transmission in the '91. The ECM doesn't care if the wiring to the transmission is hooked up.

If you want the shift point light, you do. Also the manual trans .bin has a slower decel rate so it's easier to shift gears. Other than that - not much difference. If you keep the same ECU and stock .bin, you'll constantly get the TCC SES light too.
