or are u doing Texas style and mount it on a pedestal thru the roof and build a chair in the bed

this is a shot of my 91 Reg cab roof. There is a "dropped" section for the light. It appears to be about 3/4" down from the inside roof skin. The rest of the roof has maybe 1/4"-3/8" between layers. Hopefully this helps. And definitely post a shot of your rack, those of us north of the border wish we had some of your freedoms!!!
