Quick valve lapping job. Intakes were nice and shiny, exhaust were a little crapped up.

I had the block acid dipped and cam bearings replaced and had the cylinders honed.
Looks pretty sanitary.

Pretty much finished the short block. I had the crank polished as well.

Mechanical fan had to go. No room for the air intake 90. Got a set of fans from a 2007 Avalanche. $45 from Bucks auto wrecker.

Got rid of the ABS and changed to GMT 800 master cylinder. Had to make up new brake lines. Found a good deal on copper coated steel brake lines and a super awesome flaring tool. This is the best one I have ever used.

I think the owner of the engine I pulled from Bucks did the same thing, just dumped oil everywhere, because mine was a filthy pig!! Lol
Most of it came from the power steering pump, but still nasty.
You have pretty much done what I'm in the process of doing. Except hopefully mine doesn't see the inside of a machine shop. As mine is more toy than daily, I am not too worried about trying to pull a few hundred thousand KMs out of it.
Can't wait to see where you end(ended) up with this.
And it's funny that @Sean Buick 76 is commenting here as well, we are all in the same neighborhood! Lol
