It’s currently ¥167 per liter roughly. I’m in south Iwate (Tohoku) and it’s actually quite a bit more than neighboring provinces. I filled up at Costco in Sendai Miyagi a couple weeks ago and it was ¥145

It’s actually wrapped and was wrapped quite some time ago so the removal process will be quite substantial hence why I got it crazy cheap. This truck was immediately imported to Japan in 1996 and was never insured to a buyer in North America. The odds of it having aftermarket bumpers and grilles are quite low. I’m curious if it’s a true SPORT if you could upgrade to the chrome options instead of the painted bumper and grille option. In the VIN decode it has the codes for both the sport option and the chrome bumper options. So I’m confused a little bit.
Oh ok, I missed that part and thought it was paint. If it is a Sport, they swapped on the chrome grille when they did the bumper. Or, and probably more likely, it’s an LS (cloth) or LT (leather) trim and someone just swapped the front bumper - keeping the stock chrome grille.

Either way, it’s a nice find with such low mileage. It’ll be interesting to see what it looks like unwrapped.

Thank you for the insight! Yes it’s pretty clean for the age and I’m super excited.

Here is a link to a member posted online factory service / repair manual. https://charm.li/Chevy Truck/1996/K Tahoe 4WD V8-5.7L VIN R/Repair and Diagnosis/
If you scroll down to the " Application and ID" folder . You will see sub folders with body ID. And description. A break down explanation of RPO codes weight limitations and other specifics. Once you grasp the RPO logic, you'll realize GM has a good idea. The link I gave is 96 Tahoe. The best descriptions of rpo codes are from GM service manuals. Other sources may be incomplete or too generic.

Interesting, no passenger's side airbag.

I've never noticed the 2dr could be had with barn doors, I guess I've always expected to see the tailgate / flip glass.

Barn doors can leak around the weatherstripping, allowing water into the rear sill area, which can find its way under the carpeting in the rear. FYI.

I’ve heard that also with the tailgate style. Lots of complaints about water leaks with lots of rusting and weak motors. I think anything from 1996 will have its issues.

Yes I've seen several two doors with barn doors on the rear. Used to see one on my old work commute to the Eastside, that looked like my Burb except for the "middle" two doors not being there, same color and it had barn doors. One of my good friends had a '99 two door Tahoe base model (Scottsdale?)(had W/T grille and lights, and vinyl interior with no trim on the inside of the barn doors) that was also Pewter Metallic, with barn doors. Seen a few others too; I'd say the ratio is slightly more barn doors vs. E55 tailgate and lift glass.
