Looking for help. I've owned this truck for 2 years now. And I'm finally getting around to fixing my heater issue. How do I reach the venting behind the metal part of the dash? Does the metal part come out. I'm talking about the whole shroud in front of the heater vents assembly. Any help greatly appreciated

You might also want to step over to gmsb.com,
it's a great resource for square body trucks and Burbs. Your truck is one of the carryover models; by age and model it fits here, but it's actually a square body Burb. I had a '90 GMC R2500 for many years, only square I wish I still had besides Dad's 75 Sierra Classic.
The base dashboard in the squares is metal and doesn't come out, like the plastic ones in the 400s. The ductwork can be removed on these but it is a job and will result in scraped knuckles.

Ahhh. Thanku Sir. IV been looking at things and already figured scraped knuckles was what I was in for. I definitely check out the other forum.
