    Wooden Glove

I like the idea too but i have to keep room for me and my two boys. Fishing trips are important. The wife's barely allowed to ride in it ........ This is what happened to the last 1500 we had. RIP white lightnin. Wife rear ended someone less than 1/4 mile from the house. Had such a great...

    Wooden Glove

Thanks man. I enjoy doing custom work. Only spent $15 total and its better than a broke or missing door. Still have 8ft of board for any other pieces to be made so its all the same exact wood and matching grain. Im not the carpenter my grandfather was but this was his truck handed to me and...

    Wooden Glove

Nah. No need. No food or drinks allowed in the truck. Helps keep it all in better shape. I was going to make them at first with large forstner bits and the drill press.

Thanks for nice work comment but no need for your ghetto comment if you don't possess the skills yourself bud. Not everyone can just throw money at an issue to solve it.

    Wooden Glove

Went with mahogany. "Minwax" brand. The only brand stain i will ever use! Great products, can get at Lowes. I didnt go with reddish stain because i wanted it to pop out, not blend in with the maroon sea everything is maroon in this truck.

    Wooden Glove

After shaping it into basic shape it was time to figure out the new hinges. Thought about it for a minute and grabbed a cheapie philipshead screwdriver and the shank of it fit perfect. Needless to say that screwdriver met the grinder! I put the rubber glove box door bump stops into the hinge...

    Wooden Glove

This adventure starts with a badly warped and broken hinge glove box door. Baking in the sun for years. So i started searching for another on ebay. I found several in maroon but not in the best condition. Avg. price was between $50-$90 + shipping. Way too much for my taste to just gamble on used...

    Speedo not working

Update: I haven't checked dash yet. Today while driving the speedo started working out of no where. It has now started sporadic wild shifting. Its shifting back and forth while just casually accelerating. That would be the speed sensor probably right ?

    Transmission rear shaft seal question

Awesome, thank you for your assistance. Will order it soon as possible. Gonna replace the trans mount and filter while im at it too. The mount didn't look too great of shape. Not busted but showing a lot of weathering/age. The truck sadly baked in the GA sun/heat for many years

    Speedo not working

Update 1: While driving to the store this morning, i just decided to smack the hell out of the column dash area (not enough coffee ) and I'll be damned it started working until i got to the store and cut it off. Got out of store and back on the road, not working again. Gave it a good bump...

    Transmission rear shaft seal question

My question is ... The inner seal is 1.5" on both of these seals. The outside is different, one is 2-1/2" and the other is 2-5\8". Is the difference just the lip? The one in my trans now is the 2-1/2". Can you use either one or no ?

    Speedo not working

Ok thank you for your suggestion. I will end up getting a scan tool eventually because none of the part stores round here have obd1 scan tools. They only sell the cheapies. I can deal without the speedo atm. Got many leaks on engine, trans and rear wheel brake cylinders to address first. I will...

    Speedo not working

On my 88 gmc c1500 SLE the speedo doesnt work at all. It rarely works and it seems to only work when its cold temp outside. After couple minutes it just stops working. This summer it wouldnt hardly work unless it was a cool morning or if it just decided to work for a minute or two. This is the...

    Tail light issue

Grounds were good. Had just installed new harness and had to drill 2 new holes for them. Ran a continuity tester on old harness and it didnt have continuity from where it spliced together in harness to passenger tail light for the parking lights. The harness plug was bad at tail light is what...

    Tail light issue

Self fixed. Cheap made light socket pieces. Prongs for harness plug didnt align just right. You can see where they dug in. Gently bent prongs to space them out so it would connect properly.

    Tail light issue

Aight heres whats going on .... Before new parts, only the parking light on passenger side rear tail light not working. Turn signal works, brake light works. Drivers side works like its supposed to. Figured it was the socket piece on tail light, replaced both and still same thing. So then i...
