A little diagnostic update: Plugged the exhaust hole by installing a SS strap over it. However, the Tick Tick Tick is still there! Turns out it must be a wheel bearing. Put it up on jack stands and spun the rear wheel to verify. Hard to tell where the noise id coming from sometimes. The...

Got the alignment done yesterday, and drove it around for a couple of hours today! Have a few issues that need to be addressed right away: Tick tick tick noise. Could it be an exhaust tick’? Checked all of the wheels and it doesn’t seem to be them. There is a small hole in the exhaust. See...

Hahaha yeah probably the rubbing is a GM thing. The Ford guy at the parts store was giving me a hard time about square vs round wheel wells or something like that lol. Decided to clean up some more stuff under the hood. Blasted and Cerakoting the air filter housing. Also going to do the valve...

Had it out for its madden voyage since the new lift, tires and brake upgrades! Man it rides nice! Actually rubbing 33 inch tires on tight turns. The rough country lift is supposed to clear 35s so hopefully an alignment will help. Cleaned up the vacuum booster and bracket then installed the...

2 steps forward and 3 steps backwards lol. Got new dust shields in from Summit, pulled the new discs back off to install. Took the shocks back off as well for them to get their boots. Also cleaned up the frame in the engine bay and gave it a little rattle can paint. With this prep work out of...

Yes, it’s an epoxy curing oven for small parts. Baking this epoxy paint makes it tough and also knocks the gloss sheen down to almost a flat black

Discovered the old hose mounting brackets had been getting some rust. Pulled them off for a quick blast and epoxy paint treatment. Appliance epoxy stands up to cleaners pretty well so hopefully brake fluid doesn't affect it much. Baking them for 1 hour at 350

This evening was able to put nice new blue boots on the rear shocks and install them. Jacked up the front before running out of daylight. Going to put extended braided lines on the front calipers. See in the picture the old rubber hose stretched to the max.

Bought this truck in 2003 for 500 bucks! Used it to move cross country to southern California as a young man and stayed there for a few years. Came back to NJ and continued driving it to and from work until 2015. Then parked it until 2021 when I got the itch to make a project out of it and...
