Pitman Arm Play - Is This A Problem?

You’re right. I’ll hit it with a bit of Lucas red grease for peace of mind. I just figured it’s a moog part and they’re generally considered premium, so the grease oozing out of it must be at least okay.

Pitman Arm Play - Is This A Problem?

Grease was visible at both the zerk hole and at the other opening. I would not have installed it without greasing it if it only said “pre greased”.

Pitman Arm Play - Is This A Problem?

No need to grease it. It came preloaded with grease.

Pitman Arm Play - Is This A Problem?

Got it off Tool was crap quality. Went to Napa and got a decent one. You get what you pay for, I guess. Impressive popping sound on this, too.

Pitman Arm Play - Is This A Problem?

Yes, but and washer are off. The puller isn’t doing anything except bending itself: I’m going to go get a better quality puller and see if that will help.

Pitman Arm Play - Is This A Problem?

I have a problem: The pitman arm is bending the puller arms and refusing to dislodge from the steering box. What do I do about this?

Pitman Arm Play - Is This A Problem?

The “oil leak” in question is 27 years of undercoat build up. No leak to be found. Im not worried about her other bits. Sway bar bushings are a bit dry and her ball joins could be replaced but, there is nothing indicating that anything else is at risk of ruining her or killing me. If I drive...

Pitman Arm Play - Is This A Problem?

‘97 Silverado 2500. Is this safe to drive? https://files.catbox.moe/uujyhl.MOV Passed an Ontario, Canada safety check like this and has some steering play. Is this normal or was my mechanic an idiot and I’m in danger if I keep driving it?

‘97 C2500 Dual Battery Set Up

To tap into it is as simple as adding another connector to the same bolt it’s on, yeah? Or will I have to splice a splitter on to it?

‘97 C2500 Dual Battery Set Up

Got ya. Fuse 24 is there and not blown. The only brown wire I can locate in the vicinity is this one: And it’s here: And appears to be attached to another solenoid of some sort. From there, it runs to this white box: But I can’t see much down there because the wires are in the way.

‘97 C2500 Dual Battery Set Up

I don’t see a brown wire or a fuse numbered 24: That diagram also says fuse 24 and “4WD”. Hot in run wouldn’t be the bolt on the upper left hand side of the fuse box, would it?

‘97 C2500 Dual Battery Set Up

Okay, thank you. You didn’t have to do that and that was a huge help. There are a couple more wires floating around: My understanding is that the orange wire provides power to the trailer wiring harness as the wire goes all the way to the back of the truck’s current 4 pin trailer connector...

‘97 C2500 Dual Battery Set Up

Thanks. That’s close, but not exactly what my truck has. I don’t see the thingamabob in the diagram, nor where to attach what wire to what thingamabob appendage. I cannot find an exact match for the auxiliary battery setup in my truck anywhere. A picture of an intact identical setup would be...

‘97 C2500 Dual Battery Set Up

I believe the truck has the original solenoid to accomplish this. If you look at the picture I’ve posted, right above the brake fluid canister is a thingamabob mounted to the firewall. I’ve been told that is responsible for isolating the batteries and controlling what one is used for starting...

‘97 C2500 Dual Battery Set Up

Hey guys, My ‘97 C2500 came from the factory with a dual battery set up to power accessories. The previous owner bought new batteries, started experiencing electrical issues right afterwards and proceeded to delete the secondary battery in a futile attempt to stop the issues he was experiencing...

    Fuel gauge goes beyond full

‘97 Silverado 2500. Not overly familiar with these trucks. Was at 3/4 tank and I threw in 53 liters or 14 gallons. Cause for concern or normal?
