And another question.
Is there an easy way to tell if the injectors have been changed from CSFI to MPFI?

Changed the downstream B2S2 and from looking at data chart it sure makes it look like B1S2 is not that good either and now im wondering just how good are the 2 upstream sensors?

@L31MaxExpress
Question for ya.
So i bought a 2003 5.3 with harness out of a 2003 Express. Basically complete from a buddy of mine.
Im thinking the vans did not change much from 1999 to 2003 other then the engine and cosmetics so it would be an easy swap.
Im going to park this van in the fall and pull the engine. the original 5.7 does have 280k. Runs ok and burns maybe 1/2 quart in 4k miles. No bad but i do wanna rebuild it before i retire and i need a project also.

I think the newer 5.3 although not ideal it would be cheaper and easy to swap.
It has 65K on it and should last many many years. Pretty sure i would need new hoses maybe a radiator and AC lines.
Anyway i believe you have enough experience with vans to know if it is more or less bolt in.
Waddaya think?

It is far from bolt in and the LS van engine cutout is larger. I test fit a 6.0L in my 97 and even the coil packs were going to have to be changed/relocated. You would also need to build a standalone harness out of the van harness and marry it to the existing van harness. Easier to go through a 5.7L or make a 383 out of one and go that way. I test drove a 2012ish 1500 van overnight from the dealership I worked for and even with the 6L80E 6 spd it was a dog. It was an $12,000 van at the time with less than 100K on it.
