I want to stay with GM stuff, and I’m of the opinion that mustang 2 front clips are the default option for everyone who doesn’t k ow what they are doing. I’ve seen soo many vehicles with those mustang II front clips and the engine bay looks like a pile of horse turds.

If I wanted to narrow the track, I would simply cut the center cross member and bring everything in. The only other obsticale would be the track bar, but my guy tells me that I could reach into the GM parts bin and find another car or truck or s10 tack bar that would work. Or if they are forged, just cut and weld and sleeve if need be.

I will start a thread once I do start, but I need to finish my current project first: 59 gmc 2 ton on a duramax chassis. 4x4 slammed.

If you have the fab skills it would be possible to just keep the 4wd and slam it. Mines 5/8, not awd yet but the front diff is in and I still have plenty of ground clearance at ride height as well as decent cv axle angles. My front diff is mounted up a bit higher than a k1500 relative to the frame but that’s something you could do. Add a body drop on top of that and you could really be draggin *** static and 4wd.

I have a 95 tahoe 2dr 4x4 if I were to rebuild it into a 2wd transmission will speed sensor plug right in and will it throw any codes or check engine light. I know I have to delete transfer case and front shafts would just leave the ends on cv axles and get drive shaft made. As far as gauges will it read speed and would it plug right into 2wd transmission

Or will it work getting another 2wd transmission from a 95 4dr tahoe. Found some cheap and might go that route in order to use the front 2wd front clip and transmission and rearend

"2wd front clip"

You mean cut the frame and weld on a section from a 2wd truck? Because they really are different up front. If it were me I'd sell the thing and buy the truck you want.

Yes am thinking about welding on a 2wd clip because I want it lower than the 4x4 can go and am not wanting air ride. But the transmission and transfer case went out so I really need to get trans rebuilt in order to sell. I am able to do all the welding and work on front clip. Just need to send out trans to get rebuilt. So I need to decide to go original 4x4 or go ahead and get trans rebuilt into 2wd or get another
