Worked on some body bits, today.

Waiting for my composite headlights to arrive. Going to ditch the quads.

A.) They're ugly.
B.) Nobody makes a decent LED drop in assembly that isn't $400 and LMC isn't getting $120 worth of my cash for their glass bulbs with H4 drop ins.

Want to know what really grinds my gears?

Once upon a time, LMC Truck had a great Research and Manufacturing team, of which I was lucky to be a part of for over a decade.

It was full of hobbyists and guys who just generally cared about the parts and applications being correct. Along with bringing new parts to market to help the community.

The great exodus occurred in 2019, when I left to go work for myself. As far as I've heard, in 2024 Research and Manufacturing is down to 1 or 2 guys. Out of 10-12 guys.

Took a drive over to LMC after working on the truck this afternoon to pickup a new gauge bezel to fix the blown out headlight switch mount.

Upon opening the box, for an 88-89 application part, I was greeted with a 90-94 gray bezel.

That's totally wrong for an 88-89. Upon further investigation, these bezels and inserts are black prior to being painted..

Look at the great paint job on one of the blanking plates.

Simply put, it's next to impossible to find a good 88-94 bezel with intact headlight switch mounting bosses. So this was the lesser of the evils at $104.95.

It just isn't black. Which I set out to fix this evening. I couldn't mentally bare the thought of a wrong color bezel in my 1988.

It's saddening to see how that company has gone from the correct parts and applications, to just a money churning machine.

Someone at some point decided to spray paint small nicks on this truck, made it look horrendous!

The wife got that fixed this evening! So much better.

Can she do quarter panels too? If so, I've got some work for her!
