Out with the old and in with the sunburn!!! Lol
It's friggin warm!!!! And the A/C crapped out in our office trailer, won't be here until Monday to fix. (Sad face emoji)
How soon after the 5.7 is on the floor that the new one goes in?

Im not sure it is what it is. I’m already looking at big flow alum heads and stroker short blocks. If I stay with the vortec heads I will have to learn how to port them from Mr Vizard.

I also found a badly cracked exhaust manifold so I will be going straight to turbo instead of NA for break in

I’ve got a spare buick 350 on the shelf that I could use if I wanted big power. With a turbo it would trump most big blocks. Just looking for 500-550 Hp so almost any engine with some boost can hit that goal.

I spent about $25,000 on the engine for my Skylark… it’s not easy staying married while spending that much money on the toys lol.

And yes making power is the easy part, it’s all the other stuff that gets expensive. $7000 trans, $3500 rear end, $1500 fuel system. $2000 to pay off the inspector to make it street legal.

If I were to buy a crate motor it would from these guys. 434 inch small block for pump gas that makes great power and the price isn’t out of this world.

Scott actually helped my buddy reach 1021 Hp with a Buick 350 and a supercharger, that’s what gave us the idea to build the 1” thick block girdle and billet crank for my engine. They made the 1021 HP with 355 cubes, 8000 rpm and 21 psi of boost.
