Is it having any issues or you just want to clean up the exterior? What do you mean by “revamps”? I wouldn’t remove it just to clean and paint it.

So I'm working out on the coast and some areas of rust I treated with Hydrate 80 about 6 months ago are showing rust....

Basically a home on the beach.. Brutal conditions. Some fasteners rusting.. Wired clean, and applied the Hydrate 80...2 coats...then paint...Latex....white.....
Had to paint because that's how they were before....

hmm....
Going to reach out to them.... The hydrate 80 should have sealed everything in.. Possible I missed some coverage but I don't think so......

what's strange is that all of the raw 316 marine grade fasteners also get a rust film on them but it washes off with a little soap and water....

I had aggressively cleaned all of the 316 fasteners up, treated with 303 corrosion spray so I don't know yet what is going on with the easiness of them cleaning up or why this rust seems to be floating on the surface... Like it's the actual salt air sticking to the metal and having it's own little rust party on top....

everything I've done under my truck still looks great but it is black....

Latex? Why?

Latex? Why?
It's how the house is painted. Fasteners for various pieces of siding, headers..etc that had been being painted... Color matching isn't an option. The fasteners aren't even fasteners anymore because of the corrosion. Basically just odd shapes of rusted metal.I'm not convinced using another finish would do anything more since the work was technically done by the hydrate 80 and the latex is definitely good enough to cover.
Something happening from under...

Grinding and patching isn't a route I want to take yet because some of the trim being held on by these fasteners is textured hardi board and to match that isn't easy.

I have the liberty to experiment some so have tried several different products so far in various areas.
Rustoleum rust reformer was a big fail....
Ospho struggled...other oil based stuff.....

Right now I'm trying something called rust destroyer because it's all I could get in time here...
Seems like nothing more than an oil based primer but it definitely seals over rust and topcoating it covers nicely even though it's red.......supposed to be more than a primer with some patented something but, I won't hold my breath...

there are sections of steel garage door....fasteners around the power meters...some flashing under the deck.... all areas I'm trying to get a handle on...But they've been ignored for 20 years so it's been a struggle and my time is limited when here...

having to follow dry times...weather......cleaning salt every 5 seconds......

Oh, I thought you were talking about your truck and that it was parked at the beach house.
no....truck is doing great afaik....but it's black... I've looked closely and it seems great though...

I keep my truck parked in the garage while here anyway..... It ages years every visit if I don't...lol
