For anyone interested in reading more about Dex VI compared to Dex III.
I've grown weary of arguing though. Suit yourselves, but do your own research.

Nobody was arguing that Dex3 was superior. You did imply that GM Dex6 is superior to other brands Dex6 though. While that may or may not be true, you have no evidence that the Castrol “Universal” isn’t as good. Blackstone Labs at least gave me some evidence the Castrol works fine.

DexVI is both a brand and a spec.
If fluid meets DexVI specs. Then by definition, it is DexVI.
Never claimed Castrol "universal" wasn't any good.
I said that it was not DexVI, and it wasn't. Also said that I wouldn't use it.
Easily found AC Delco DexronVI under $30/gallon.
So, claiming it's much more expensive than other fluids isn't true.

Yep, filter will make a little bit of contact before pan is flush on the case pan rail.

Ive taken down quite a few transmissions where owners would put those garbage chicom deep pans on, no filter extension tube then promptly burn up the trans or lose all movement because the filter falls out of the pump, lol. Many of them fit real similar to the OP's pan.

The cheapest parts end up costing the most in the end but so many ignore and learn the hard way.
So Nick, you're telling me that TCI 378000 2 quart extra, cast aluminum pan I bought ten years ago was a prudent investment? :)

Have you had any issues or concerns with it?

Has it helped you to keep transmission temps under control?
