I actually list that as an option, my point is if he wants an easy swap and have it run correctly without tuning/buying anything swap the oil burning short block for the Vortec one but keep everything else from the old motor.
Easiest way to do this just swap short blocks but use the TBI heads, intake, FP, WP and accessories. The roller cam is probably even worth a few HP.

305 Vortec makes a little less tq than a TBI 350 but a little more HP so yeah if you have some Vortec 305 heads and have a roller block you can upgrade then go for it.
My last oil change was with the usual Wix filter that was made in USA I believe in Illinois. They also made the Bosch one, I think exactly the same as Wix/Napa Gold and I bought quite a few on Amazon, so look for that filter too while they are still out there.
It's not a 113 head if it is an 87 and original. They had the 128 head, which flows less over the exhaust side, has factory guideplates.
If they check out sell them to a Vette owner and buy aftermarket heads., unless you really want a GM al head then send them to Lingenfelter for porting and...
