A contact on my Chevy vintage car forum found this craigslist post with what looks like the same plate listed as a Ford adapter?

Back in the 70's when I was a mechanic I remember working on a GTO or Tempest, (something GM) replacing a clutch. That GM car had a Ford transmission in it from the factory. Something to do with parts shortage as a result of the GM transmission division strike?
You are 100% correct on a Saginaw plant that went on strike. GM had sourced 3 speed transmissions from Ford for a short little bit. I believe that it was in 68. I was blown away when cleaning grease under a 68 GTO that was a custom ordered and I found FoMoCo on the tranny.

At the time I knew an old GM tech and I asked him about it. Above is what he told me. Later in life I asked a tranny builder about it and he wasn't aware of the strike but he said that they were rare. He called it a Dearborn 3 speed.
