    Extra Lift After Shackle Flip?

I should also add that I think I figured out the left/right problem... it was the Chevy Lean! A full gas tank makes it sag on the drivers side. This drove me crazy for a long time wondering why it was always changing, because the amount of gas in the tank was always changing!

    Extra Lift After Shackle Flip?

I ended up going with the 1" zero rate AAL and shims to help the driveline angle. I had to get an extended coupling nut to fit both through the shim enough to be secure on the spring pad. I also went back to 3/1 leaves and ditched the lumber rack. I cut the fenders more and lowered the front...

    New 1997 Chevy 1500 Z71 (TO ME)

That's a very nice truck, I wouldn't get in a hurry to start modifying it. Like the other guys said, a clean stock OBS is getting rare these days. Too many of them got hacked up by teenagers. If I were you I'd just do some small stuff. LED lights all around, polish or replace headlight...

    Sourcing 2wd rear lift blocks

The shackle flip itself isn't that bad, but it puts your driveline at a really weird angle that is hard to correct.

    4.10 Gears?

Check out this calculator, it's the best one I've ever seen for getting an idea for what your new gears will be like. http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html I'll add that I have 4.88s and 37s, I turn about 2200-2500 rpms on the highway, and it's perfectly fine and pulls good. That's with a 350...

My Experience with Sound Deadening - Siless Hybrid 3 in 1.

The Problem The speaker in my driver door stopped working, so I replaced it. The new one didn't work either, and I was able to trace the issue to the short stretch of wire that connects it to the amp under the back seat. The problem is, it's inside the wall behind all the trim. I have to take...

    1994 GMC SIERRA 2500 6-Lug(Light Duty)?

That's what I have always heard too. 6 lug is 6 lug, no matter what's on the doors.

    Front diff swap

They were inconsistent with the 9.5, you could have got it in anything. There was two or three different sizes of drum brakes too.

    Front diff swap

A 2wd axle is a different width than a 4x4 axle, the 2wd is a few inches narrower

    Front diff swap

Whatever truck you get the rear end from should also have the correct front diff. Good choice on the rear end swap, I did the same thing on mine and I'm 100% glad I did. And just FYI, if you don't already have the rear end, be aware that you can't convert an 8 lug rear axle to 6 lug. I tried...

5.7 Random Misfire & Hard start Help

Timing chain? I had misfire and hard start problems. I replaced all the usual tune up items, sensors, ignition parts, etc, with no luck. It ended up being a loose timing chain.

    Front diff swap

If it's a 6 lug it got the smaller diff, if its 8 lug it got the bigger diff. 1500/2500 doesn't matter.

    Front diff swap

3.73 is a very common ratio in these trucks, I doubt finding one would be harder than swapping a diff from a completely different truck.

    Unicorn lift kit?

You can run 33s on reasonable wheels without any lift, I had 33s on my truck for 10 years and all I did was crank it to level. There's no kit that will add travel to these trucks, a 4-6 lift kit will keep your suspension the same, just moved further down with brackets. Those "key" lifts are...

    1988 GMC C1500 - Z06 Package!

That looks great! I've been really wanting a single cab street truck lately, especially now that my truck is "done" as far as major modifications go. It's just maintenance from here on out and that's just not as much fun! If you don't mind me asking, where are you finding all these trucks so...
