I wanted to share my experiences with KBS coatings products.

I'd rather not think about the money I've spent over the years (mostly with Swaintech) ceramic coating exhaust valves, pistons, turbine housings, headers, various exhaust, etc.

About 2 years ago, I tried KBS "XTC" coatings (using a small, cheap spray gun) for my turbine housing, headers and exhaust. It was magic. The finish was perfect and lasted until I sold the car this year.

More recently, I bought a set of Hedman 69440 for my 89 K1500 (motor offset to pass side), so when I returned to the site I noticed they offered the same product in a aerosol spray. It works as well, easy peasy.

Simply media blast or wire wheel the old coating off, wipe down with Acetone (keep your oily hands off the item) and go to town.

Best $60 I've spent thermal-barrier coating in years, and it works.

Material and chemical science has helped us in countless ways in the last 10-15 years.
