If your 98 has the same wheel. I would also check to make sure the airbag connector is the same, because that did change between a few years (not relevant if you're keeping your existing airbag, provided you have the same style wheel). You may even find a Blazer with steering wheel radio controls. They'll swap right in, you'll just need to run a couple more wires for them to work.

Thanks for the response. To clarify, it is possible for the models and years I listed to have the same wheel as my 1998 Silverado and if so it’s a simple swap?

I believe it is possible... I think 98 is when the GMT400s started getting that smaller-airbag wheel. As I recall, the 97-98 S-Series trucks stayed with the larger airbag and switched over in 99. 99-02 GMT800s all had the smaller style airbag used in 99-00 400s and 99-05 S-trucks. But I think 98 400s also had them, tho it may have been a mid-year production changeover.

If you could post a pic of the wheel you have, I could say for sure.

Checked my vehicles today. Now I fully understand it. My 1997 and 1998 have the old (large)style and the 1999 Burbs have the newer smaller style airbag. Too many GMT 400’s and a nasty case of Covid led to some confusion.

Is the difference in airbags “game over”. Or does it mean you need more of the column?

Thanks for the help.
