smoking tailpipe

Ok so there is a greyish smoke that comes out on startup sometimes and if I am at idle for more than 30 seconds or so then givve it gas like at a stop light. Just recently went catless and thought that might be part of it. And idears?????

To me it kind of sound's like valve seal's, if they are bad they will allow a small amount of oil to seap by them, and you will see some oil smoke on startup, and also during extended peroids of idling, you normally don't notice it when the engine is reved because it's being burned off.

Me too I just did a head gasket job. But I also did a valve job and someone said if you do a valve job the piston rings can start to leak
