Oil pressure problems 1998 k1500 5.7

The oil pressure in my 5.7 vortec has been acting strange, at cold start idle it sits at around 40 and slowly drops to 20 after warming up for a while. If I drive for more than 10 minutes than my oil pressure won’t reach above 20 no matter the rpm and idles at 5-10.

suggest verify OP with a Known-good Mechanical gage ... OR Replace OP sender located rear of block near dist.

It is still within factory specs. How many miles on the engine?

Agreed, start with a know mechanical gauge or a new oil pressure sending unit.
