Just joined and wanted to say hello. I've had a few GMT400 trucks over the years including a 1990 454SS. I never really took the time to learn about this platform however. Instead I just drove them and had others do the work. I am now back in the game and this time I will be the majority of the work myself. This is my 1990 2WD It has 3.42 (G80)/700R4/5.0

Frame and interior are in amazing condition. Unfortunately the bed is damaged. I will be replacing the cab corners and one rocker panel. I also have a nice set of sport mirrors for it already.

Future plans are 2/4 Lowering and some engine mods. I want to learn about tuning the TBI system hopefully instead of just switching to a carb.

Great start to a project.
There is more than enough information on here to avoid a carb swap. Just ask the right question in the right area and you will get the help your truck deserves instead of going back in technology.
