When I dim my headlights, they quit. The lights go back to daytime operation. No headlights, no running lights, just like I turned the switch off. I wait a minute or so and they come back on and work normally. This has happened 3 times, no other symptoms of faults to go with it, except.....
Last night I noticed the light switch was very warm, not quite hot. Switch overheating?
I replaced the multifunction lever/switch last year when it first happened. The headlight switch was replaced four years ago. The daytime running lights have never worked in the four years I have owned this pickup.
I don't believe the DRL system is part of this. I thought a bad new multifunction switch, now I suspect an overheating light switch.
Comments, experience with a similar problem?
Thanks,
Jeff
