I have a 1996 1500 5.7 that has developed some starting problems.
The truck sat for about two months with a busted brake line. Ran fine before.
Motors spins but won’t fire. Fuel pressure 55 with key on, 60 when cranking.
I got it to crank a couple days ago after replacing dist cap and rotor and ran it around for about 30 miles. Ran fine. No codes. Now it won’t crank again…
Coil wire hot. Plug wires hot.
Got #1 on compression and rotor is pointing to it, so don’t think it jumped time.
Plugs not fouled, but appear dry. I would expect them to be wet since I’ve been trying to start it for hours
Tank is full of gas
Tried starting fluid . Tried
to fire, but just belched through the throttle body
frustrated.
