so im new to the platform always wanted a limited but could never afford one. so now i got a fairly clean 2000 but its dirt nasty low on 22s. the guy i got it from had no clue of the brand of lowering springs or flip kit used to drop it or what else was done to drop it to what he said is a 5/7 drop. this thing was on the bump stops in the front and the rear axle hits the frame going over bumps. i hit up DJM to see if they could help me out since i cant seem to just find a c notch kit for a 4dr and not sure if the 2dr frame is different but they just ignored me. just want to see if anyone has dropped their 4dr tahoe this low and what they used and if the used a c notch where and what else did they do to get it to work. any help will be great trying to get this thing to ride good and smooth.

Welcome,

I see a flip kit on the rear but since we can't see the ends of the springs, we can only guess if it has stock shackles and hangers - let's see some pics of those areas, please.

Front looks like someone probably did drop spindles and springs, and possibly cut the springs to make them even shorter. Pics from the back side of the spindle would help.

Like Richard said, more pics needed.
Would be handy if you could pop the back wheel off so we can get a nice shot of the fre above the rear axle.
Same with the front. Usually manufacturers are proud of what they make, and will have casting marks or numbers.
What are the measurements from the ground to the lip of the fender? Front and back.

But it sure does look pretty sitting down like that!
But that's not everyone's jam, and practicality sometimes has to win. It does look too low for a daily.

heres a few more pics. not sure if the front coils are cut. havent pulled the front suspension apart yet. i put in new shocks to help with the ride since it had what i assume is the stock ones.

yeah it looks really nice but the ride is rough since its so low and the rear bottoms out and hits the frame. my old lady doesn't like it lol. i haven't measure the height but will do that today. but i looked to see if there was any markings or anything on the flip or what i can see on the coil but nothing. only markings is the shocks.

To me, that looks like lift shackles, and stock spindles. They probably cut some drop springs in the front.

See if you can get a shot of the spring hangers too just to be sure.

Definitely need a notch in the back (I’m not sure who makes one for the Tahoe sorry) to improve the ride in the front I would find some stock springs, and use control arms and spindles to get the drop you want. You’ll retain factory geometry and ride characteristics that way.

so the spring hangers are factory still with the original rivets. i was looking around and it seems not many dropped the 4drs that low to were c notches were available for them. i made a template and might try and make my own c notch or i saw that djm sells a kit that 4/4 with a c notch so might go that route
