Haters Gonna Hate, My '06 Mustang

Hate it, hate it, haaayyyy now... Not half bad. I guess I don't hate it. Truthfully my wife really wanted one in 07 when she totaled her first car but she had to have her parents cosign and they wouldn't on a Mustang. She got an 05 Civic instead. Before we bought her GTO we looked at...

    Welp, got a doner.

I will say that I prefer the LS due to the top end and injection/ tune in stockform. Easy to swap injectors when more fuel is needed. Great air flow for a stock head. Plug in and tune. They do have a lazy cam and issues with roller trunions. TBI has limited injector choices so you play with...

3rd or OD in the mountains

Not saying that you're wrong because I don't know but I have to wonder if it really wasn't built for 20k but if instead they used it and found out that it worked.

    Welp, got a doner.

SBC vs LS fight... All this is, is automotive evolution. In hot rodding we've had the V8 60, 85, 100 hp flathead but EVERYONE wanted the Mercury with 125 thundering horses and 255 cubic inches of Detroit muscle. This story can be told over and over again, 50's Caddy, Nailhead, FE, 389...

Rebuilding motor: Timing gear or chain?

Holy cow! Revival of a necro-thread! I didn't realize until I saw fast orange post and I was going to ask how he has been because I haven't seen him in forever.

    Build a hypothetical 3500HD.

Fuel got back to me. They discontinued the wheels that I want. Nobody seems to have them in stock. The hunt continues for an Alcoa style 20x8-9.5ish wheel. Dang...

Anyone recognize this Chevy transmission adapter?

You are 100% correct on a Saginaw plant that went on strike. GM had sourced 3 speed transmissions from Ford for a short little bit. I believe that it was in 68. I was blown away when cleaning grease under a 68 GTO that was a custom ordered and I found FoMoCo on the tranny. At the time I knew an...

IHC vs DJM 4/6" Full Lowering kit

Two things; first your truck looks killer! Second, this doesn't relate to a 400 but it does to DJM. I was extremely disappointed with them on a 2nd gen Tacoma. The upper A arm bushings were extremely sloppy. They came pre-assembled and I figured that they put the wrong sleeves in the bushings...

Camper Top Combatability between GMT 400 vs 800?

I'd be surprised if it was "correct". There is also a difference in angle of the extended cab vs standard cab/crew cab at the back of the cab.

    Build a hypothetical 3500HD.

Also, Fuel Wheels won't respond back to my email for part numbers. I'm ready to cry and pay for 6 brand new wheels but I need the exact part numbers so my guy can order them because the wheels aren't returnable.

    Build a hypothetical 3500HD.

Just a temporary hold. The weather got too cold to paint. We had some projects that got put in front of it due to space. I'm going to help a coworker move later this month and then it'll be time to part out the HD of everything that I don't need.

Really wish ppl would stop bringing me trucks with hydraulic fluid in trans

I've NEVER dunked an empty water/soda bottle in the ones at truck stops and filled my reservoir that way. I don't know how that bottle of blue sprite ended up in the tool box of the 3500hd...

    Slight knock?

I'm confident to say that is piston slap. GM short skirt hypereutectic pistons have a tendency to try to rock in the cylinder until the skirts warm up just enough to cause them to expand. I've had many vortec era engines do the but never a TBI. As mentioned, LS (especially the early ones) do...

Best way to add power to my 98 gmc sierra k1500 with 4.3 vortec

This is why I said supporting mods. Even a stock V6 can kill a 4L60E or NV3500. You're going to need a fuel system, tranny, suspension at a minimum either way.

Did you do a crank relearn? This requires a scan tool. Did you degree the cam?

Best way to add power to my 98 gmc sierra k1500 with 4.3 vortec

This doesn't say V6. Junkyard 5.3s with a chop suey sushi slicer turbo will push 1000hp with supporting mods for a tenth of what it will cost you to get half of the power from a V6. If the 5.3 decides that rapid unscheduled disassembly is the theme of the day, an afternoon with another $500...
