    Favorite beer

Somebody taught you wrong. NCO Academy was a course in functional alcoholism. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate while you're drinking to avoid hangovers.

    HOLY TOLEDO BATMAN

Look again. That's a narrow dually rear tucked under a standard long bed.

Should I get a bigger battery?

I spent 28 years in the Air Force, and that entire time we used Optima batteries in all our equipment. They're fantastic if you don't have a parasitic draw and need to leave equipment sitting for a year at a time. The downside is that if you ever drain the battery, they're bricks. They do not...

93/94 Climate Control with MAX button

I had one in my hands last Saturday at Pull-A-Part OKC. Don't know if it worked or not, but mine works, so I left it. If I'd known...

STEAMING PILE I could rant on how bad degree programs have become. I have 200+ hours of college credit hours and 3 associates degrees to show for it. AI is a great tool for sorting through reams of data, but somebody is going to have to focus the AI, review what it finds for relevance, and put...

    3/4 Ton of fun - ‘95 Sierra

You can put too stiff of a bar in the rear, which will make it tail-happy. I put a Suburban bar on WCJr and it works very nicely at reducing body roll. The Suburban bars aren't too aggressive.

    Abs bleed

Not true! It depends on the software version and ABS version. There's a thread where we're trying to sort through what works on what. https://www.gmt400.com/threads/confirmed-brake-bleeding-scan-tools.67047/

    Washer nozzle replacement

Disconnect the hose on the backside of the nozzle. Use a rubber-tipped air nozzle to shoot air backwards through the nozzle. Anything clogging the nozzle should shoot out.

    350tbi interference on stand.

Throw that valve cover in the trash and get a junkyard fresh cover. Just note that the later Vortec valve covers have a thinner PCV baffle that fits aftermarket rockers.

    Car Trailers

The deck on my trailer is 16' long and 77" (6'5") wide. It's about the smallest trailer I'd want to haul one of these trucks on.

Secure that plastic oil line! When I was at the race track last month, a Ford Ranger came into the pits on fire. Their plastic oil line for the gauge had shifted and rubbed on the header. Fortunately we spotted it and they fixed it. Don't trust it to stay where it's at, make it stay where it's at.

    Catalytic Converter causing Hesitation?

No. If a cat does anything detrimental to performance, it clogs. That won't give you a hesitation, it will give you a power loss that gets worse with engine speed. But, I'm not sure what the rear O2 sensor will do if the catalyst breaks up. It should just trigger a check engine light. I don't...

How to Put a Vortec Motor in a TBI Truck

Get those Vortecs magnafluxed and inspected before you do anything. They're really bad about cracking between the valves, and between the valves and spark plug. If you need a whole new exhaust, is there anything keeping you from jumping to long-tube headers? I built the exhaust in WCJr with...

Diamond in a goat's butt. Enjoy the 4.3 for what it is, but if you want power, jump to a 350 or an LS.

    The Stupid Electronics Questions Thread

Mine's higher up on the firewall, but you're right, I'd like covers on it.

Decided to build a garage. Now the fun begins.

Speak for yourself. My city requires electrical work to be done by an electrician licensed in my city. That narrows it down to about a dozen, and their prices are higher than electricians in the next town over.

That's a good idea. I haven't worried about it because I don't have tools laying on my floorboard, but I would like a cover.

    No compression

The standard is 0% leakage. The valves shouldn't have to wear in to the seats, they should have been lapped in. But, would you rather tear into it, or would you rather just run it? Most likely it'll clear up and they'll seat themselves, but there's also a chance you have to go back into it.
