The Plow Truck: 99 454 CCSB

Wanna do mine next? I've got a laundry list of sh*t I need to do on the red truck. Your trailer seems to be a smidge wider than mine; unless it's just the fenders are narrower on yours. My K3500 was TIGHT on there and that was PY0s and 285s; my brother's W350 he had rubbed the fenders like hell...

    1995 k3500 CC RV Puller

I've heard you could swap a P30 master cylinder onto these trucks, I don't recall where I saw that, possibly on the old GMFS thread about the NBS knuckle upgrade. I must say as well, I greatly enjoy the evidence you've posted highlighting the GMT800/GMT400 hydroboost mod, I've been searching...

    1995 k3500 CC RV Puller

Following this project! I've got a K3500 myself that's ultimately going to wind up being the family hauler for pulling a camper too; for the rear end swap, I assume you had to move spring perches and shock mounts but other than that was there any modifications that needed to be done? I've been...

Decided to build a garage. Now the fun begins.

If it makes you feel any better, I've been in the planning stage for my shop for probably 2 years now. The power situation looks like a bear; I suppose I oughta take advantage and dig a trench for conduit to where the building is ultimately going to be before I do more landscaping

    My K1500 DD Tow Pig

I was hopeful with the new motor I'd be able to install all new accessories at the same time, but unfortunately the core motor is gone and I'm searching for a new one to rebuild; I really need to get the AC in the K3500 sorted out too.

    My K1500 DD Tow Pig

My compressor leaks it all out. I want the Sanden compressor upgrade; I think a couple of components on my truck have been replaced but I can't tell for certain. I'll probably throw a can in it just to get air back for the time being, but unfortunately I know something will need to be done in...

    My K1500 DD Tow Pig

I need to charge mine, I miss having ice cold air. I could call in a favor at my buddy's shop, he does AC stuff constantly and said he could hook me up; I was planning on a new compressor and everything with a new motor but that's had a wrench thrown in it.

Old floor jack no longer holds. Time for a new one.

I've got a 3 ton ATD jack, got it with two 3-ton jackstands for like $250, I love it. Bought it from a local parts store, ATD 3-Ton Floor Jack + Jack Stand Combo

Had the truck backed up near the street while I was doing some yard work; I feel like I barely take pictures of it anymore

GMT900 seats and center; apparently it's possible to mount that flip up center console in a GMT400 with a 60/40 but it's tight. I've explored it, halfway tempted to try

The Official Vortec 454 Info thread

Glad it could be some help, I hate the massive thread on FSC was lost; I'm hoping one day we can get somewhat close to what that was.

    BNielsen's 2000 Chevy K3500

The pickup hitch is 32" wide on the cross tube, the C&C one is 34", probably just wind up reselling this one and trying to procure the proper hitch. Always do, I'm hyper aware of making sure everything is latched and rigged up properly I had no idea twisting them up would cause the potential...

    BNielsen's 2000 Chevy K3500

Goofed up a little bit on the hitch, I checked part numbers before I bought it and got confused, fitment did say it will go on an 88-98 Chevy, but only a cab and chassic truck! I'm hoping I can reassemble it with the eyes flipped in and it'll line up, probably going to have to drill a couple...

    BNielsen's 2000 Chevy K3500

Thought of that too; hence the clevis and not the wimpy carabiner Those d-rings are rated for 13K and the trailer receiver is rated for 16K. I (probably) won't ever tow that heavy (at least not with a bumper pull) but it's a peace of mind thing. I'm wanting to get a higher rated drop hitch too...

    BNielsen's 2000 Chevy K3500

I should've specified, I always hooked chains but the loops on the hitch were always a pain, my dad had the same issue with the C3500 when we had our first camper, he started out using those little carabiner type things but he didn't like how wimpy they were, a trip to Napa and he came home with...

    BNielsen's 2000 Chevy K3500

Truth be told I never liked hooking the chain loops up, I always managed to get them jammed or something, d-rings all the way. I never really paid attention until I saw another member on here who installed a B&W on his truck, I love how clean it looks and it let me mount my 7/4 pole connector...

    BNielsen's 2000 Chevy K3500

Picked up a new hitch, need to swap the side brackets for it to fit. Dude bought it for his truck, used it once or twice and then put a flatbed on his truck. Super jazzed, these hitches are close to $400 now off E-Trailer, I paid like $320 for the one on the red truck back in 2020, so I was over...

Camper Top Combatability between GMT 400 vs 800?

The GMT800 topper is about half an inch wider on each side, doable but doesn't look great. Played around with the topper my dad acquired for his 2003 Duramax, loved the look, hell even the paint matched almost perfectly but it fit like crap. Spent some time cruising craiglist and found one...

Alternator died the other night, had time today to pull the old one off. Gonna run sometime this week to get a new one. Might grab a new tensioner too, this one is a little wobbly. Had the alternator tested in September of 22 and it tested good, so I guess I exceeded the window of it being...

    GMT400s in the Movies

Seems like it's been a hellacious start to the season; my brother lives in Redfield Iowa, about an hour from Minden and he was watching radar like a hawk. I think the Minden tornado was rated too low imo. I figured EF4, not an EF3. Either way, not a good feeling seeing a violent outbreak this...

The Plow Truck: 99 454 CCSB

After speaking to a couple guys who know a little about plow mounts we deduced this is a late 90s Western plow mount. Probably won't mount it on anything, but might be an interesting thing to trip over; it's been years since we've had an actual decent snow. But the thought of owning a RCLB K2500...

The Plow Truck: 99 454 CCSB

Thanks to you I decided to go back looking for something in my local haunt of a junkyard, I couldn't remember where it was and I thought it got crushed. Just buried under a Nissan; a 98 K1500 that rotted in half, but it's got what's apparently pretty decent still bolted to the front.
