    Yes the 4.3,5.0, and 5.7 all share the same T.B. but with different injectors, but a lot of87, 88, and 89 models have a different designed TPS sensor, and the plug is different, although the wiring pigtail can be cutoff and swapped though.

    I suggestion here though, get either a Gates or Ac Delco theromostat, I have removed a lot of Murray, Stant, other knock off parts store special thermostats for not opening at the correct temp, regardless of markings on the t-stat, I have never had a problem out of a Gates, I have installed at...

    I know what you are saying 2 inches isn't enough and 4 is too much for just leveling, 3 is the perfect spot for level, or at least to me.

    With a 4 rear inch rear drop and no drop in the front the rear will sit slightly lower in my experience than the front. For just leveling I use a pair of drop shackles, the ones I use on the 88-98 are from O'reilly auto parts and are 3 inch drop shackles.

    Yes you can do the rear main without touching the oil pan, I have done it several times.

    No it's just fully primed and painted with 2k temp paint.
