I have a stock GMC Sierra. My AC suddenly quit. I have no blower function on any speed and the compressor is not engaging. Checked all the fuses and watched a bunch of YouTube videos. I do remember the fan switch was not functioning correctly; sometimes when I moved the switch one speed higher or lower it would not respond. I’m thinking that it might be the blower motor resistor. Before I start replacing random electronic parts does anyone have anything useful to contribute?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would put eyes on that resistor. When they go, there is typically signs of overheating and discoloration because of that.

I would replace the resistor before doing anything. I just replace mine in my 95 gmc sierra and now I have function on 1-5. Cheap part and takes about 5 minutes to replace. It’s right top when you remove the glove box.

A fan not functional on one or more speeds, very often is the fan resister. The AC compressor not engaging when AC is selected. Check AC on , button in, fan on high check for power at compressor clutch. Check AC pressures. Has low press switch opened, causing loss of power to compressor?
