The 16 ga. purple wire and yellow wire installed into the same connector plug into the clutch safety switch. The 1989/1990 schematic (shown below) is for an automatic (hence "neutral safety switch" label), but the function is the same with a manual. EG: On an automatic trans truck the safety switch is closed when the trans is in neutral; on a manual trans truck the safety switch is closed when the clutch is fully depressed.
This arrangement may have changed in later years, but as long as your switch is at the firewall side of the clutch mount, and it is press-to-close, this schematic applies.

Ok, maybe I have the gauge wrong. I'm referring to a yellow and purple wire not connected to the safety switch. There are smaller other purple and yellow wires hooked up to my clutch safety switch.
This is something different. I don't have a picture of it yet. It's just hanging loosely and is not connected to anything.
Also, do you know if the wiring diagram is different for 92 k1500 manual trans? Mine is definitely wired differently
