On the vortecs, maybe? My 1995 TBI 454 has a block drain plug on each side with a pipe plug in each.If it’s a 454, there will be a knock sensor on each side and no “plugs”.
Yeah I was thinking Vortec, but since he hasn’t let us know, we’re all guessing. I looked in his signature and didn’t see anything. On the vortecs, maybe? My 1995 TBI 454 has a block drain plug on each side with a pipe plug in each.
The TBI big-blocks may have had knock sensors in the block drain ports. I think I've heard that that's the case.If it’s a 454, there will be a knock sensor on each side and no “plugs”.
There's no "bolt". There's a hex-head, steel/iron 1/4" pipe-thread plug as installed by GM. Fairly common for there to be a "crust" of debris at the bottom of the water jacket that has to be broken-up with a Phillips screwdriver or awl, before the coolant will drain. It's a 350 tbi. And yes it has a knock sensor opposite of the bolt I found on drivers side.
